With the merger of KLM with Air France, also the 767-fleet of the Dutch airline was replaced by A330-200s. The original of this model in the 1/200 scale, equipped with real rubber tires as well as aluminum rims, is the first of a total of eight ordered examples and was commissioned in August 2005 as PH-AOA and christened “Dam Amsterdam”. The “Dam” is a famous square and meeting point in the heart of the Dutch capital, and subsequent A330s will also be named after famous European locations.
